United Regional News

Editorial policy

United Regional News aims to explain regional geography and identity with care, clarity and a visible distinction between established information and interpretation. Our work should help readers understand a subject without overstating what can be known.

Accuracy and clarity

We take care with names, descriptions and geographic claims, and make wording precise enough to show what a statement does and does not mean. When a subject has competing interpretations or uncertain details, we say so rather than presenting one reading as settled fact. We do not imply that general explanations replace checking current local information when a reader needs it.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for reader relevance and fit with our subject. A commercial relationship does not determine what an editorial article concludes. We do not promise favourable coverage in return for payment or a partnership.

Corrections

Readers can use the Contact page to flag a possible error. We review correction requests, check the relevant wording and amend material when warranted. Where a substantial correction is made, we aim to make the change clear to readers.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or otherwise partner-supported material is identified clearly as such, and partner placements are labelled so readers can distinguish them from editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when they are, they are identified accordingly and are not presented as documentary photographs.

Our point of view

Places make more sense in relation

A map is a starting point, not the whole picture. We look at the features and connections that help a region come into focus.
